Why Crafts are Good for the Catskills
The handcraft industry has a national economic impact of $13.8 billion a year. Craft businesses are made of people who
live and work and play in our region. They reflect the natural heritage of the region throught the used of wood, wool,
bluestone, leather, and other elements. They are environmentally sound and have the capacity to integrate within
different sectors of the economy - tourism, agriculture and education. Please join us in making the Catskills a nationally
recognized center for fine handmade products.
