The Catskill Mountain Crafts Collective, a not-for-profit organization managed by the Catskill Mountain Foundation, promotes crafts and crafts-related tourism in the Catskill Mountain Region. The CMCC is synergistic with a number of other initiatives of the Catskill Mountain Foundation:

  • the Artists Feature section of the Catskill Mountain Region Guide Magazine, the only four-color complimentary monthly magazine covering the arts and culture, outdoor recreation, and country and farm life of the Catskill Mountain, Hudson Valley and Leatherstocking regions of New York State, profiles the work of artists working in the region in many different media,
  • our Sugar Maples Center for Arts and Education, where we are in the process of developing a major new arts learning center for the region. Our Sugar Maples program currently offers residents and visitors to the area an opportunity to study ceramics, fiber arts, painting, sculpture and drawing with faculty members from this region and beyond. As we continue to renovate the 20 buildings on the Sugar Maples campus, we will build new studios suited to work in other crafts media,
  • our new gallery and craft shop in the Village of Hunter, which exhibits and sells the work of fine artists and master craftspeople working in the region,
  • the Mountain Culture Festival, our largest event of the year, which includes the Catskill Region Fine Crafts Fair, Wood Products Fair and Great Catskill Mountain Quilt Show, featuring more than 200 fine craftspeople from around the region,
  • our Fine Arts and Crafts Career Development Workshops, with panel discussions and portfolio reviews.
